Tom Gilliatt

Tom has worked in some of the most senior publishing roles in Australia, first at Pan Macmillan, where he was non-fiction publisher and later director of non-fiction publishing, and then at Allen & Unwin, where he was publishing director for nine years, before becoming a literary agent in 2022. 

As a publisher, some of his bestselling and prize-winning authors included Les Carlyon, Corporal Mark Donaldson VC, Graham Freudenberg, Gerald Stone, Cameron Forbes, Molly Meldrum, General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK CVO MC, Adele Ferguson, Mary Moody, Schapelle Corby, Kathryn Bonella, Rusty Young, Dr Catherine Hamlin, Adam Gilchrist, Ben Cousins, Nick Riewoldt, Chris Judd, Bart Cummings, Richard de Crespigny, Matthew Spencer and Jack Beaumont. 

As an agent, Tom represents a wide range of authors writing high-quality narrative non-fiction, history, current affairs, crime fiction and thrillers.

He is passionate about using both his editorial experience and industry knowledge to champion their work and to help them find significant publishing and media rights deals in Australia and overseas.
